That's the problem, it drops everything for supposed animation and even then on the average it looks as bad with the art style making it look worse.

Because they needed to both shill the new Gen with the MC AND have something that could fight megas. I'm not even going to dignify the remark about Pika somehow missing out, when they weren't going to drastically change the series mascot, just to fulfil the role asspull did (also helps to make it not look a total jobber when it loses to M-'Zard X)
