I have a feeling that obstagoon will be a monster in VGC for some reason. Polteagiest may also have potential in both smogon and VGC.

I don't think it gets extremespeed. It's niche is being pateint and methodical. I may be wrong though.

We'll see. As it is, all base form mons evolve into their Alolan counterparts in gen 7 unless you specifically avoid it.

I think what he meant was that if a Pokemon has both a regional evolution and a generic evolution, then the regional evolution takes priority, unless the entire line has regional forms, such as Vulpix, Sandshrew or Zigzagoon
