Current HG Nuzlocke team, though levels have been raised since and Zorro has reached the level to learn Flamethrower.

I have two Water Pokémon because I needed a tanky Special Attacker and my Espeon fucking died to a crit Thunderpunch at Chuck’s Gym even though I had Reflect up. I am still upset about this loss because she had just evolved that day at 27, and died at lvl. 31z

Thinking about switching Slowpoke for Nidoran (male) once he’s done at the Daycare.

Honestly, I’m surprised Zucc is still alive at this point, as he nearly died 3 times, even tanking a Self Destruct from Koffing with 22 HP left.

It's going to be one of those weird ones isn't it. Also I'm using a harsh dupes clause - a dupe voids the entire route. Kanto has little variety anyway but it'll be a laugh.

The Nidoking would also cover my team’s weakness to Electric, but Dratini would be hard to kill at all but take a long time to evolve

Only failed to catch a Caterpie (since I crit) so far. Also got lucky and got Nidoran F and then Spearow after Brock. Haven't had any dupes yet so haven't had to put that rule into play. My starter was Squirtle so Brock was a piece of piss.

I also have Zubat/Pidgey/Rattata, but they're not worth the time when you have to grind in real time.

3 casualties since the last update, all but one from crits. Luvdisc got trapped by Fire Spin and killed while I wasted three fucking Great Balls trying to catch a Solrock with a red HP bar.
It was worth it, but still a really dumb way to die.
Missed catching a spoink because I crit it and a meditite because I just didn't feel like catching it.

update on my progress from last thread, beat the locke, but it was very close. I went in with cofagrigus, galvantula (lilligant died from me misinputting in victory road on a ball instead of a potion since that was in my last used slot), mienshao, beheeyem, crustle, and krookodile. Elite four was pretty easy, cofagrigus pretty much could solo it but mienshao helped with grimsley. Since I had grinded up to 50, i headed straight to N. Was scared about reshiram but cofagrigus tanked through his fusion flares and then slowly killed it with shadow ball. I send out my galvantula to deal with carracosta hoping to one shot with electro ball, it sends it to like 15 hp but thankfully it dodged the stone edge and finished him off. I got cocky so I stayed into the archeops, he outsped me and killed me with stone edge. I finish it off with crustle then go to cofagrigus for his vanilluxe. he blizzards me and crits and kills my cofagrigus. I got nervous since cofagrigus was pretty important for my team, but crustle was able to tank the blizzards thanks to sturdy, and finished it off. The rest of the fight went smoothly. On to ghetsis

I was pretty nervous going into it due to his hydreigon and me losing cofagrigus, but it started of well, went into krookodile and 3HKO it with crunch. He goes out into hydreigon so i go into crustle hoping to get an x scissor off. I able to get one x scissor but soon realized he had surf, and i had few healing items left from the N battle, so I had to sacrifice crustle to get mienshao to finish him off.
I switch into beheeyem for his seismitoad, hoping to tank his muddy water, which he does then I go for psychic which does about half.He then lands a crit EQ and kills beheeyem from full. Mienshao was able to finish it with a crit jump kick, then the rest was pretty easy, krookodile took care of the bouffalant and eelektross and mienshao took care of the bisharp. That was one of the closest nuzlockes I had in awhile, krookodile could have easily died just with slightly higher damage roles from N or Ghetsis and mienshao was a lot more useful than I expected. Overall I had a lot of fun with it, its a lot more easy to have fun with it when grinding is very short (compared to my gen 4 locke I did a month ago) and you get a good variety of mons. The difficulty was a nice balance too, so I wasn't getting bored. fun locke/10 still upset lilligant died tho

Vs Chuck

Primeape uses Double Team, and Leopold's Surf misses. A Focus Punch is started up, but a Surf Crit strikes Primeape down in one blow.
>Poliwrath
Poliwrath uses Focus Punch as Leopold Yawns at him. The punch does nasty damage.
Hypnosis misses, and Leopold does a little bit of damage with Mud Bomb.
I send in Leggy as Poliwrath sleeps. It wakes up immediately the next turn, and scores a Focus Punch hit as Thunder misses.
I'm in a precarious position, but I go for another Thunder(the Zoom Lens means it does have 90 acc). Body Slam puts Leggy all the way down to 13 HP, but Thunder strikes true and Poliwrath is no more.

Does anyone have any advice on where to grind up Meganium in my White 2 randomizer? Like are there any breeders that I can oneshot over and over with Giga Drain or Bulldoze?
If not I just have to go around and find a good grinding spot (wild mons are randomized)

Hope I didn't miss too much.
By the way, I got ANOTHER Pikachu. That shit blows my mind. It's a 5% encounter rate, and the funny thing is, the 2nd Pokemon I ran into was a Kakuna, which is another 5% chance in Green. Weird stuff.
But this was actually a problem for me, as I was kind of hoping for a Caterpie/Metapod, so that Butterfree could finish off Brock fast.
The Brock battle went through well enough though. If it wasn't for Cweh's Sand-Attack, I would've lost at least 1 or 2 Pokemon. It was just a tedious battle, but I won with 0 deaths.

I was b8ing on /pol/. I b8 a lot, but it's usually just me saying Liberal or stupid crap. This time I was pretending to be a overdramatic zoomer, and like a dumbass, I said I was born in 2002 (as part of the joke). I should have considered Rule 2. I ended up showing the Jannies my Driver's License to prove that I was over 18.
I guess I am technically a zoomer. I was born in 2000.
So basically I lied about my age in the opposite way. Usually you say you're older on the Internet, but this time I said I was younger.

Pic was my final team.
Meganium came in insanely clutch to get rid of Haxorus' DDance, and then one-shot the Lapras to get a phat health refill, and then finished off Haxorus.

I only played through Gen 6 twice, but from what I remember, yes.
Even Lysandre is pretty easy, besides his Mega Gyarados
Gens 4 and 5 were peak difficulty (throw in Colosseum from Gen 3 as well).
Gen 6 is where it unfortunately started easing up.

Update after Team Rocket almost mega fucked me in the ass at the radio tower. I never would have made it this far if it weren't for Shrewbert who carried the early gyms. Beetroot literally cucked Archer and Giovanni on her own so thank god i slid her into the squad. Finally starting to realise as to why storm silver is aids, would have lost at least 3 members if it weren't for beetroot. R.I.P Shrewbert, it's a real shame you won't be with us for the league.

Finally back with another update. Decided to change the rules a bit for sustainability. Instead of getting +10 lbs in each exercise, I decided to go with +40 overall. Next update should come tomorrow, since I only need 10 more pounds in one exercise.

Ivanna the Staravia was going to carry, but a trainer in the gym killed her with a Machoke. To beat Maylene, I relied on Murkrow's Wing Attack, Prinplup's Growl + Bubblebeam, and Vespiquen's Heal Order + Gust. Maylene nearly killed my Murkrow, but the Stacy Vespiquen took out Lucario. Absolutely based.
I also redid my yellow nuzlocke. Here's the team.

Here we go again, almost ready for the final round of the Sinnoh E4. Got a bit more grinding left to go, but I'm feeling pretty confident about this team.

Both Candice and Volkner were unsurprisingly easy with this lineup, but the Cyrus fight in the Distortion World and Barry fight before the league had a few too many close calls for my liking.

You can't evolve Murkrow until it's around level 40ish and Rampardos has pretty shoddy defenses, so I'd err on the side of caution with them both, even into the late game. The tradeoff is that both will more or less be able to OHKO anything they can get at before the opponent gets a chance to retaliate.

For Honchkrow, I ran Fly (fairly useful), Steel Wing (didn't use once), Night Slash and Sucker Punch (both fantastic). Could drop something for one of Night Shade, Confuse Ray, Roost etc if you think it's necessary.

Rampardos on the other hand had Rock Slide, Earthquake, Zen Headbutt and Avalanche. The exact moves don't really matter on Rampardos, I'd just go for coverage as it'll kill almost anything with just 1 SE hit.

Had Bunry out ffirst to go up against Amaura. I actually wanted to send out Gula because I thought being a ghost type would make it immune to Amaura's Takedown but then when she hit Bunry with it and the game said it was super effective I remembered that Amaura's ability turns all normal-type moves into ice-types so it would've hit Gula anyways and brobably one-shot it.
Sent out Swelter because I wanted it to use Embargo so Grant wouldn't use his super potion but he used it way before I thought he would.Swelter confusioned Amaura to death and Grant sent out Tyrunt. I thought I could get off one Confusion without losing Swelter but Tyrunt rolled a crit on Bite and one-shot it.
Sent out Frankie and she got his tyrunt nearly dead so then I sent out Tara so she could share the XP, then one Bite was enough to end the fight.

Time to fight the Elite Four.
Pretty confident in my ability to win, not so much so in my ability to not lose anyone in the process.

On the bright side I've had such good luck with catches and natures that even if I lose all but one mon during the E4 gauntlet I'm pretty confident I can still win this thing with my backup team.

All of my nuzlocke teams so far:
- Overleveling, no items, permadeath, no legends apply to all
- No using more mons than the gym applied to all except White 2 (ie if the gym leader was only carrying 3 mons then I had to fight that gym leader with 3 mons but this didnt apply outside of gyms)
- White 2 was my first and only run on Set
- Veteran clause only applies to vanilla games (not randomizers)

My favorite runs so far have definitely been the 2 randomizers. Probably moreso Platinum since the story fights go hard as fuck.
I did attempt a Black 1 randomized locke previously but I got fed up really fast with it and stopped.
The easiest run by far was Blue, and Crystal was probably the most tedious (the locke ended after the first champ, though the kanto gyms were all such jokes I didnt get a single faint in them)

Because at the time he was the only living mon immediately available who could learn it and I didn't want to have to switch him out with a trashmon every single time I had to use it since I'm playing on an actual DS as opposed to an emulator and thus lack the luxury of Turbo.

If I had remembered how little you actually have to surf in Black 1 I would have reconsidered. Big fuck-up on my part.

As for the other guys it's more that I'm loathe to use TMs, especially storebought ones, unless I feel like it's necessary. Well that combined with the fact that I'm not really that much of a heavy duty Pokemon player outside of nuzlockes so I'm probably ill informed on optimal movesets.

The only difference between the first Sandshrew and the second is that I can only use the one I actually got for Cut, and not for battling, which I didn't intend to anyway. I even crit a Diglett, not that it matters, since it doesn't get Cut until Yellow apparently anyway!

Managed to get Barry's team half maxed out (+10 levels after 10 E4 runs) but really couldn't find the motivation for any more.

I don't use HP or status healing items in battle since it gives the player an unfair advantage (PP restoring items I'm cool with since they don't really give you too much of an advantage)
Same reason for Set over Switch, since the AI can't do that at all
I think if I ever do another Autismlocke I'll tweak the rules to say I can only use as many healing items as the opponent has, to make it completely fair

Got the Soul Badge, Ruby's Slash was enough to one-shot every single Psychic pokémon, definitely this run is going easier than Pokemon Blue.

Malva was a piece of cake due to Suh, dude, Malva fell to Quacklin' but Wikstrom is where it all fell apart. I made it out of that battle with only Ting and Quacklin', but I had hope that I might be able to make it still, since Ting could potentially sweep Diantha. But then Siebold's Barbaracle killed Quacklin' easy as pie, damaging Ting, with his Gyarados finishing him off

I'm kind of at a loss for what I should do, I guess I could just train the Meditite I have and just drop that proverbial nuke on the place, but even that might not be enough

The trainers there fell like bricks until I encountered a Black Belt officer. My team held the advantage with numbers and levels, but they had coverage and a higher morale. I lost three of my best commanders in that battle, and I would soon lose more. I bled commander after commander during my trek through Reflection Cave. By the time I reached Shalour, I only had three not shit commanders left. All of which had a crippling weakness to rock. In my wrath, Shalour city toppled as Ridley blitzed the gym with Aerial Ace. I caught some more commanders and now I am at Courmarine. Which officer should I summon from the box? While I had rebuilt, my team is still kind of garbage, with only two units. How are your wars going, anons? There are a lot of concurrent Kalos runs on this thread. Happy conquering, everyone!

To each their own, but I think not randomizing trainers would potentially make the game easier, since you might get something like a fully grown Metagross from Viridian Forest and then you can coast on that for most of the game. Randomized trainers are also interesting because mundane battles can be memorable. Remember that Rocket Grunt you fight after Misty? I do, he had a Kyogre and a Mewtwo

Gotta admit, getting the 2000 watts for Blue Lake on the Pokéwalker only to get smacked with enough dupes to void the dupe clause stung a bit. On the plus side, I'm very close to getting the Town Outskirts.

Finally all 6 team members have art.
Moving on, Vs Clair:

It gets a Dragon Rage in before Leggy discharges it into oblivion.
>Dragonair 1
It uses Dragon Pulse before getting Thunder Wave'd.
Leggy sets up a Light Screen, before getting Thunder Wave'd herself.
Leopold comes in on an Aqua Tail miss.
I put up the Screen so Leopold can Amnesia up, and he does for 3 straight turns, during which Dragonair misses an Aqua Tail, does some damage with Dragon Pulse and gets fully paralyzed(but the same turn, Shed Skin removes the Paralysis).
It then heals Leopold back up with Aqua Tail as he misses a Blizzard.
Slam misses and Blizzard Freezes Dragonair solid... only for Shed Skin to immediately remove the status.
Clair uses either a Hyper Potion or Full Restore, not sure. Leopold misses another Blizzard.
Dragonair fires off another Dragon Pulse, and Blizzard hits it mark again finally.
Clair kindly has Dragonair top Leopold off with Aqua Tail, as Earthquake takes it out.

...It misses Slam twice and dies to Blizzard(my last one) into Earthquake.

Smokescreen is met with Yawn.
Another Smokescreen is used, and Earthquake misses.
The next quake hits the sleeping seahorse.
It then wakes up and Hyper Beams, and gets hit by Earthquake again(activating the Sitrus Berry).
Leopold yawns during the Recharge, and after firing off a Hyper Beam as my Earthquake misses, it falls asleep.
Earthquake leaves it in likely single digits of HP, and I groan. Full restore and an Earthquake miss follows.
Another Smokescreen, but Yawn still hits. A fourth Smokescreen makes my second to last quake miss, and I switch in Jade as Kingdra sleeps.
Swords Dance into Wing Attack actually nets the KO. Sharp Beak helping out?

Yes to both of those. Having a great time but I never realized how unpredictable XY can be. My poor Sandile was one shot by a Solosis with super effective Hidden Power, something I didn't really see coming.
Rock gym was pretty brutal for me, even with Thumper she got his attack decreased by one aurora beam so she was almost dead when I needed her to kill Tyrunt instead of sweeping like I planned.

I had a Monferno, Surskit, Corsola Tropius and a Pineco found in this order. Monferno and Surskit died against the elder at the top of the Bellsprout tower against his Vibrava. I couldn't catch anymore Pokemon and trained a bit (all 3 to lvl 17 or 18) and tried my luck against Falkner. His Plusle was no big problem but his Heracross (lvl 20) KO'd all three of mine easily with Brick Break and Arial Ace.

It's grim how quickly it ended.

Made it the Elite Four, managed to catch a Ponyta on the way there. Leveling her up for to get Flare Blitz. Also caught Ho-Oh, currently in the box, not sure what to do about Sacred Ash.

Ran into a Shiny Hoppip at the route before the Safari Zone, he was caught. My first shiny ever come across naturally, and it a Hoppip, but it was still exciting to see go down.

I reconsidered my final team and made a small adjustment after realizing that while I'll need all the help I can get against Ghetsis's bullshit Hydreigon, Bloodthirster probably won't be of much use against most the other mons given that he'll be underdeveloped during the fight. So I finally got around to fighting N and got raped in half due to a horribly timed crit on Abaddon resulting in my entire battle plan falling right the fuck apart. Took out the coffin easily enough but then the dragon came out and outsped/mudered everyone in one shot without missing a single fire blast. Guess there's nothing left to do but declare Exterminatus on the planet then.

I suppose this is karmic balance for dodging five blizzards in a row in the HG run against Lance. Time to move on to Black 2. Also going to go with a new naming scheme since I'm getting a little bored of the Warhammer theme.

Cliff Badge acquired, thanks to a stellar performance from Glamour. Sadly we lost Ara Ara the Wartortle in the gym due to a Solrock hitting a near-perfect Psywave (It could've been anywhere from 11 to 33 damage and Ara Ara had 30 HP left)

Lass Dana blessed me with a Thunderstone so I swapped out Magneton for Jolteon, not regretting it in the slightest so far.

Ended up doing Pryce before Jasmine, but I honestly think the 3 gyms between Morty and Clair were meant to be done in any order you fancy given they all have mons at the same level.

Manila has been my unexpected MVP so far, Technician Double Hit has cleaned out most everything so far.

The majority of your team should be anywhere from 60-65 depending on how good you feel your team's natures, EVs, IVs, and movesets are.

It pays to have at least 2 Fighting resists/immunities in Kalos. Kalos is quite possibly the most dangerous region period for things weak to that type. in X, I had Talonflame, Azumarill, and Nidoking. In Y, I had Charizard and Golurk.

Moemon Emerald nuzlocke in progress, just got 4 badges which means now the actual hard part starts

- No items in battle (only runaway items like poke dolls are permitted though I dont really need them in a non-randomized game)
- No legends
- permadeath, first encounter of the route, dupe clause, yada yada
- "Impossible evos" is turned on so I can use "trade" evos like Gengar, Machamp, Golem, etc

This is my main squad, though I'm swapping in Koffing (for self destruct allah akbar on slaking), dustox (toxic protect moonlight stall on slaking), and machoke when I go up against Norman.

Honestly, my first gen 3 nuzlocke was very scuffed. I played on shift, and even then I got so frustrated that I ended up reviving a mon or 2 near the end which retroactively ruins the whole thing for me.

Oh yeah, I love Dugtrio. I had a Dugtrio as a Champ in Red. Maybe he will pull through again. And I've never really used a Victreebel, but I'm loving Za. Unfortunately I can't evolve him until Lv.38, so I hope he can hold out.

I was grinding King Achuphlopu to Lv.20 so that he could become a Gyarados and a critical Peck fucked him. I hate that so much.
I already have the same amount of deaths in Green now that I did by the end of Red. I feel like such an idiot.
Anyway, during King Achuphlopu's dying moments, he named a young Zubat called Pfsh to be the next King. It'll be pretty crazy if I get a Golbat to the Champs. Let's see.

I think ours was probably when we lost five team members, including my beloved Carracosta Leonardo, to the dragon gym in Pokemon White, against Iris mostly. Just beat Norman with a little allah akbar action from Koffing I actually was surprised how easy it was. I wasnt planning to keep him in the party anyway, if I need a poison type I have Tentacruel who has good SpD bulk
I think this is my squad goal for now, though Im not sure... In my box I also have:
Mightyena (22) - Mostly an HM slave but good for fending off psychic types since I usually have Hariyama and Tenta with me
Tentacruel (35) - Just a good mon but overlaps a little much with Marshtomp. I also wasted my Toxic TM on Dustox like an idiot so RIP that. It can do Surf/Acid at least
Magikarp (18) - Again, a Gyara overlaps a lot with Marsht/Swamp. Could be useful for DragDance + Ice Fang + Bite (or crunch if it learns it)? its spatk is just so bad though
Machop - Not sure what I would do with a Machamp. I have Graveler/Hariyama already who I'm fine.
Pidgey/Zubat - Could potentially be good flyers. Crobat is a hell of a grind to get though and doesnt even learn that many good moves iirc.
Dustox (31) - Has put in insane work thus far but route 1 bugs just aint viable
Seedot (3) - I could easily get a Shiftry at this point but I aint the biggest fan... Plus he doesnt even learn any grass moves unless I use a Giga Drain or Seed Bomb TM on him... (Seed/Giga) / Faint Attack / Fake Out could be a play though. I do lack good movepool diversity/coverage right now.
Marill/Psyduck/Whismur - Overlaps/not needed

Gym 6 done. The twins freed me up last time I played I have no clue what you're supposed to do vs them. Its kind of bullshit they have a team built around double battles.

If you use the Pokemon Randomizer tool you can run your ROM through it, tick the impossible evos option and nothing else, and you basically have a vanilla game but with in-game trade evos (if its just a trade evo it evolves at 36, other mons need to be leveled up with the held trade item)

This one wasn't nearly stupid as the last one. Just bad luck.
For those who don't know, in Gen 1, with multi-hit moves, if the first hit is critical, all of them are. "DOUBLE" Slap hit 4 times. Each doing 13HP of damage apiece. Diglett is not a Pokemon with a lot of HP. I was just praying for the hits to stop.
Just some bad, bad luck.

I finally finished X for the first time. The game was harder(and better) than I expected, but that was probably just because I didn't use the Exp Share/Megas and I went in blind for most of the game besides Lysandre and the Elite Four. The e4 went down pretty easily after I planned ahead, and Diantha wasn't much harder besides a close call from her Hawlucha.

So far they're really solid, a little on the slow side but when they first hit they hit hard, 120 Attack is nothing to sneeze at
