Like, they're very traditional and that's why they don't outright accept gays and whatnot legally, but at the same time they also don't want to bring attention to themselves personally by objecting to their presence.
If someone wants to be a weird deviant there, they don't publicly shame them cause that'd be shameful in it's own way.
As such, there's a very strong queer culture there that just tends to keep to itself and not really go about trying to push itself onto others in the same regard.
