If you mean modelling all the new pokemon, then that's probably way under what it actually took.
If you mean modelling one pokemon, you're a fucking retard.

Also, the big thing is that once a model is done, as long as you aren't buttfuckingly daft, you have a model that will last you significantly longer than a sprite ever would have.

No. There some animations that are entirely new, every single texture is entirely new, and chances are they probably had to change the shadow and normal maps because the lighting system is different from the 3DS games.
