Does anyone else find it utterly baffling that the character models and textures as well as the interiors can look so good, but then the trees and rocks and water look so fucking bad?
It's not even a "Wild Area was rushed" thing, it's a constant with every instance of those.
Its like they worked on those parts of the game for years, then realized they were a few months from deadline and rushed the shit out of literally everything else

Its probably due to the Switch's rendering conditions, were maybe they feel more comfortable to have higher res renderings in certain places. Beats me tho, I don't know anything about the Switch's capabilities.

Masuda interview today had him saying that the shitty graphics is because the game runs alot of background operations at all times related to multiplayer and online features, so they had to favor performance over graphical output.

You will notice the places with the worst textures are all wilderness, which is more grapphically intensive than "interior of a house".
