I don't know why people put so much weight on graphics, a game can be graphically amazing yet still be complete shit. Creating a world that feels alive is just as, if not more important than the graphic quality. This game feels soulless and empty, even in the town sections.

They used animations specifically for the cut content, not graphics. Also, Game Freak claims that they added more of what they wanted to add in past games but couldn't due to the amount of space and time needed just to have all of the past Pokemon in the game.
