People on here that are trying to shit on SwSh have to resort to things like the trees, people standing on water because all of a sudden that's the environment but apparently it wasn't during older gens just because the player couldn't be seen during battles and memes like Stantler. Yes the textures are fucked up. My point is when people have to resort to things like that, that have no effect on the gameplay and that will go unnoticed when you're playing, it shows how little there is for them to shit on. The dex cut and not being able to turn off the exp.share are legit arguments that GF has no excuse for but they don't automatically make the games unplayable. Then again this is /vp/, the daycare of 4chan which is already the daycare of the internet.

Most Switch games don't have anti-aliasing. It's a console wide thing there's only a very, very few that use it at all. It's not like the Switch can't handle it they just don't use it.

Graphically, it is bad. In terms of art direction it's actually p good. Not surprising since Turner is the only person at GF who implements some degree of Western design philosophy for obvious reasons. May be controversial but making him art director was one of the only true subversive things they did this time around (besides cutting the dex but that was for cynical reasons).

The game looks good in routes and cities. It's the Wild Area that looks like shit.
Problem is a lot of the marketing has focused on the Wild Area so that's what most people saw.

Like the people proclaiming that the removal of Heart Scales is bad and "casualization" just because they want it to be bad. The game's quality isn't a black and white. There is good, and there is bad. You can't properly talk about something if you only see one and not the other or if you can't accept that people are allowed to disagree with you.

this game is an assault on the ears, the music is really grating
but the worst part is how flipping disproportionately loud the sfx are
an 80 pound kid is walking across bricks with loafers, it sounds like hes clopping down a hall way in tap shoes

also its very noticeable the audio for foot steps just plays with the walking cycle, the sound doesn't actually match up with the steps.
take a look at the part when he walks into the store for a clear view, the sound of the ground strike doesn't line up with when his foot is actually hitting the ground

And I like how seamless the entering in and out of buildings is. Was always a complaint of mine that the game would freeze for a few seconds in order to load the next area

The battle animations are one thing, but the menu stuff is entirely nitpicking bullshit. The menus are neat, clean and simple. They also are incredibly user friendly. There isn't anything wrong with them.

Not only does it mach up with the steps but it matches up with the speed, and the ground you're walking on. Certain materials it's louder, and on others it's softer or non-existent. I really don't think it drowns anything out either.

I love the music personally too. I have a lot of graphical issues with these games but sound design is certainly not a problem.

If they're just going to do something like Platinum yeah. Just through a battle frontier or extra area DLC up. Those old enhanced versions Japanese games used to release are mostly dead now that DLC replaced them there's no reason Gamefreak should keep the tradition alive.
