It’d be better if it noted which ones were literally in only one game (pokestar/horde), one gen (seasons/pss) which carried on for multiple gens with tweaks and then got dropped entirely (safari zone/game corner)

Only because gen 9 will be entirely 3D and open.
GF experiments with smaller features before turning them into something bigger, like the Amity Square in DPP leading to following Pokemon in HGSS.
The Wild Area is GF testing the grounds for fully 3D open world games.

I understand that some people are mad that the NatDex, Megas, Z-moves and etc. are gone. But other than that if you tried to literally fit all these old features with new and existing ones you’re gonna have a game with these features being half-baked and being poorly implemented.
