"There's an evil team! But they're not really evil they're just dumb" "Kyogre/Groudon will destroy the climate! But you show up just as they wake up" or in Emerald "Kyogre and Groudon are fighting! But you wake up Rayquaza just by walking up to it and it stops the other two".
This line by Maxie after Rayquaza stops the battle is even more damning: "So the super-ancient Pokémon weren't only Groudon and Kyogre... After all our frantic scheming and fruitless efforts, that one Pokémon's simple action puts everything right again as if nothing had happened... Fu... Fuhahaha..." That's right, this Deux Ex Machina just shows up and stop everything. What was the point of it all? In the end, nothing happened, nothing changed, there wasn't even a real battle. You fixed everything by walking up a tower and walking in front of a Dragon which is somehow enough to wake it up and send it to stop its two friends from fighting.
After Maxie's line, there's also Archie line: "Kyogre and Groudon both flew off to who knows where. The weather in Hoenn has returned to its normal state... Haha... Hahaha... Maybe what we were trying to do was something small, even meaningless, to Pokémon..." Well it wasn't meaningless to just the Pokémon, it was just meaningless for everyone.
Oh and, Courtney doesn't even fucking appear in Emerald. What a fuck up.
