Even if we disregard that, though, its whole design is weirdly clunky. The hind legs feel extraneous; they're so short and stubby that it might as well just have no hind legs like a sea lion would, given that that's the inspiration.
Its hands don't really feel conductive to wielding its weapon, like the hind legs it feels like an extraneous detail and it could fight fine without the shell swords.
The moustache/beard are completely out of place, and even then they just sprout out of nowhere on its face; instead of having full facial hair it just has big tufts that come from very specific areas. Either go with the full beard or just give it whiskers, it's like they wanted to do both but couldn't decide on either.
Also people have already said this but it does fight like a human, it uses swords.
