Not OP but I'm actually kinda salty. I just recently hcked my New 3DS to get Homebrew and shit on it, but I'm pretty sure my 16GB SD is fucked or something, every time I put it in my DS won't even turn on, so I need to use a 4GB one. It's a buncha nonsense.

Shit like this makes me realize just how underaged this board is. I haven't bought a Switch because GameFreak a shit, but I have no problem buying an S10+ 1TB outright for a cool two grand or buying the SanDisk 1 TB at launch for $500.

Imagine being so wagecucked you can't get better than a 32 GB SD card, which costs...$5 these days?

Yes, that's set aside for the firmware. It would be absolutely insane to put firmware on the SD card for the following reason:

The 4GB memory card is just enough to hold Ultra Sun, if you remove almost everything else from it.
