If there's one thing I'll enjoy about Raid Battles, it will be trolling other people with a Perish Song user.

why not just use a 1hko move with quick claw unless they impliment 1hko moves wont work on raid battles or only do so much damage

i'm pretty sure they've stated that that is how it works. iirc it was something like you have to beat the dynamax version which causes it to shrink back down to normal form, which you then attempt to capture

From this footage of a raid battle it seems like catching the Pokemon is a separate option after you fully drain its HP
I also doubt Perish Song will even work

I wonder if they'll use Raid Battles as a way to extend the game with weekly/monthly events in the way Smash has Spirit Board events. Or if Gamefreak will just move on unless there's a gamebreaking bug.

It does, but I was specifically talking about a scenario where you go in with a group of people and the 3 others do absolutely nothing
I'm pretty sure a single person in that case would still be able to complete the raid, especially since there doesn't seem to be any kind of level cap to them

Most of the time it's either going to be someone who wants it to be over quickly since everyone has to farm these for hidden abilities and gigantamax forms or some random kid who's likely to just spam some kind of attacking move

It's also possible raids cost a currency to start yourself, but are free to join when joining someone else's hosted raid
