Story felt short compared to the Explorers games, but the gameplay and music really were amazing. Much better overall in terms of quality than any other Gen 6 game. Some of the new mechanics were interesting, though I do have to agree I prefer the old recruitment method over the Connection Orb. Can't compare it to Gates since I haven't played that one. If you like the PMD series its definitely worth playing.
