Idea: an ability for Ice types
"Melt" - Switches Ice type pokemon to Water type pokemon after being attacked with a Fire type move for the duration of the battle

It’s not a bad idea. But making it immune to Fire damage is the only way this doesn’t get BtFO. Think about how few and far between physical Fire moves are used compared to Special. Most Ice types are failed Def Tanks. They’ll be dead before it makes any difference

Let's just make it "when is hit by or use a fire move it change its type to water" so that a decent speed can save him from obliteration

Just make it so it melts before the attack hits so they get nve damage
