It'll either be pure Normal-Type or Normal/Electric, if that's how the evolutionary line ends up looking though that'll be a disappointment, another case of the base form looking fine but then falling to shit upon evolving.

We already have G-Zigazagoon and Wooloo. There’s no need for another early route Normal type.

A pure Ground type would be fine.

I've seen Ground-types speculated a lot. This seems weird choice for a squirrel mon. At least, for such a common suggestion. Especially because we know it lives in trees.

yeah the affleck leak said they would attack you if you over-shook trees for berries so I'm thinking they're a little more gimmicky than just a regular old early route mammal

If they are Route 1 beginner mons, there's definitely a lot of leeway. Most of the existing ones have similar stat lineups. Only Linoone and Gumshoos even have a stat over 100 (ignoring Diggerby's virtual attack stat).

Yeah the fact that the numbers aren't the same across the board bothers me (the starters have this issue too), but the BSTs themselves don't matter as much as distribution of those points, especially when that difference is so small.
But yeah Diggersby has serious hacks. Gets a great dual-typing too. Life ain't fair.
