Generation 3 is by far my favorite generation and I waited pretty much from the second they came out for them to be remade and I loved ORAS. It wasn’t the same magic but that’s what the originals are for; to me ORAS is a great game for what it is and it is the only saving grace of Gen 6. ORAS is one of the most replayable games too, shy of Battle Frontier I really don’t know what people’s fucking huge beef with it is and this is coming from someone who prefers Gen 3 5x more than their next favorite generation.

Stadium 1 and 2 also gave the Pokemon high quality sounds, and they both have far more effort and sound far better than what x y did with butchering them

I feel like I’m forgetting others too, it was fucking bad how many Pokemon you got for no effort. Everyones teams were pretty much the same. For how fucking cluttered routes were (with no morning day night to help keep shit more managable for some reason) so many people had identical teams.

Hint: People didn't like RS that much, and only changed their tune toward Hoenn until Emerald came around. ORAS didn't bring the Emerald improvements for the most part, and whatever it did bring was garbage, like Delta Episode, Zinnia, and the multiverse, insultingly easy balance changes like the nu-Exp Share and being handed a Mega Lati@s in the middle of the story, cut/condensed areas like the Game Corner and New Mauville (we get that the Game Corner was out of their hands tho).

And really, it's not just a comparison of ORAS to RS, it's a comparison of ORAS to the games in-between RS and ORAS. When we got HGSS as remakes, we got inspired content like including everything from Crystal (unlike ORAS with Emerald), brilliant remixes for the most part vs ORAS's trash soundfont and lazy music implementation
(compare new songs for Ho-oh and Lugia, unique versions of songs for Raikou/Suicune/Entei, vs. literally ports of DS songs for the cameo legends in the Hoopa portals of ORAS). When you play something like HGSS or B2W2, you get new, fitting, unique areas to find the old legendary Pokemon. When you play something like ORAS or USUM, you get a generic portal to encounter Reshiram.

There's just a huge difference in quality. ORAS lacks some of the older aspects that Emerald shined in, and lacks the improvements that the other games before it had.
