The announcer and crowd noises served to make the Stadium battles feel much more like a sporting event than any other gym/stadium portrayal. Even Battle Revolution’s announcer just paled in comparison to the energy the hypeman announcer in Stadium brought.
Plus its the voice of Dedede from the Kirby cartoon, which just makes it even sillier to think about.
