Complaining about pandering =/= Hating gen 1

Gen 1 has very good pokemon, and a lot of variety in forms. Kanto runs end un being kino as fuck.

The problem with pandering is that they target post-wall women that left pokemon in year 2000 and now return because they think nostalgia is cool.

Gen 1 is great. The problem is its the main gen that gets pandered to. Hell XY didn't have a single Mega for any of the pokemon native to its region but Gen 1 had megas out the wazoo. Same with SM and its regional variants being nothing but Gen 1 and barely a handful to boot. Its a miracle that Zigzagoon got anything this time around.

I don't mind Gen 1, I only have an issue with Gen 1 when it gets fanservice at the expense of other generations.
Gen 1 pandering is straight up just appealing to people who don't even play Pokemon anymore, a ton of genwunners hate anything not Kanto and will skip the games even if they're like XY and are 70% Kanto. It's frustrating to watch TCPI gun for the fanbase that doesn't actually like Pokemon while neglecting a huge portion of fans who started with Gens 3 or 4 or just happen to like Unova the most.

I mean shit, you can't even argue "well Kanto is the most popular so it gets the most stuff" when other generations have never even gotten the chance to garter their own fanbase because Gen 1 is shoved into everything.

I prefer to use only Pokemon I've never used when doing a run, and limited to the ones from that gen. Gen 1 has been the best for that, I could probably still do another one with a team I'd like, whereas I'd struggle with gen 2, 4, 6 and 7 for sure and probably 3 as well (5 is the exception since I've only played it twice).

I'd still greatly prefer some new forms for gen 2, or 4, or 5.

The idea of Pokemon is good but thats about it. Game Freak has always been a sham, the success of gen 1 was a fluke and they've been struggling for new ideas ever since. The constant gen 1 pandering is due to it being the most recognizable generation. It started the franchise and sold the most copies. So in reality, Game Freak was never really good. They just got lucky and came up with a billion dollar idea.
