Name one feature from Gen 7 you liked and one feature/mechanic from Gen 7 you hated. Cutscenes are not a feature/mechanic.

I liked the concept of alolan forms.

I actually liked Alola as a region. Really cool tropical atmosphere that made me want to explore.

I hated pretty much everything else. Very few of the new Pokemon were any good. Ultra Beasts were cool in theory, but too jarringly designed. Z Moves was a shit gimmick. The trials were a horrible replacement for gym battles. Festival Plaza sucked. Too much focus on genwun pandering with the Alolan forms. Really wish they'd added more Megas instead, because as gimmicky as that mechanic was, at least a lot of them looked cool.

Loved Poké Pelago, particularly Isle Aplenny (Most stress-free method of berry growing yet.), Isle Evelup (Set exact EXP and EV training regimens, then go play another game.), and Isle Avue (Same reason as Evelup, but for incubating eggs.).

Hated how the menu buttons were removed from the touch screen (regardless of PSS) to easily bypass pressing X to bring up the menu and having to press A to enter doors/buildings when it wasn't the case in the past.

I still think it's really scummy that there were a bunch of empty plots of land in SM, then in USUM there were photo clubs there. It made SM feel unfinished and rushed

Title defense was great for example

Festival plaza was an unnecessary extra layer of shit to deal with for online stuff and frankly I never figured out what half the stuff in it was, I just filled it with loto counters.

As for features that I like, bottle caps (kind of sucks you need to get a pokemon to level 100 but it's a good step anyway) and USUM's difficulty for bosses.

For what I dislike Rotom dex gets annoying quick, Festival Plaza coming off the back of the PSS is a huge downgrade, Ultra Space rides default controls being gyro (I know they can change later but gyro sucks ass), Battle Agency is hilariously worse than the Battle Factory

Mantine Surfing was a nice unique feature which was a great way to earn BP quick without needing to use the shitty Battle Tree.

The Festival Plaza is a shit addition to the Pokemon games and a step back from the PSS as it's an absolute pain to connect with people online. Plus the fact that you have to sit through Sophocles' retarded tutorial throughout every playthrough of Gen VII is a pain.

I liked the idea of the Island Trials being a cultural rite of passage. You never really had a reason for doing Gyms.

I didn't like Pokepelago. I recognize that it's convent for some people, but it sucks the joy out of the game to me. Just click a button and wait for your 'rewards'. Whether it's EVs, Levels, Berries, Fossils, or even your Pokemon's friendship. It really killed whatever replay value the series had left after Gen 6.
