Bug: its designs, specially the gen 5 bugs
Fighting: its moves, I think stuff like close combat and high jump kick look really cool and imagining a Pokemon actually attacking like that is neat
Steel: I hate both rock and fairy so I recently started really appreciating steel type

Ice Type unironically and not because it's trash and I'm being a special snowflake about it. Budum tsh.

I just really like how ice and snow are used in fiction, always have. Usually it's used to represent purity, romance or more commonly aloofness and I find that kind of loner thing interesting.

Steel, Rock, and Psychic are my favorites. I like objectmon, fossils, and more abstract designs a lot more than the technicolor animals that pollute the other types.

Flying. Flying has the most diversity in terms of Pokemon available to it in my opinion, so you can assemble a great team to cover all sorts of threats and still have a bunch of favorites.

I have many actually... The one that I think it's the "best" one tho must be ice.
Ice defensively is a shitty type, trying to make a good team out of this is really tough, so it's only for veterans.

Bug types have always been my favorite because it has so much room for interesting and cool looking mons.
Same goes for Psychic.
I like Poison thematically, but I don't like many of the mons in practice.
Ice because I always root for the underdog.
