Even if it were good, the games were about the Pokémon and your journey with them, not some asinine story. Especially not one that focuses on other people. Gen 1 and 2 were mostly open world done right and that's a good thing the series needs to return to and do even more right, not septupling down on linear bullshit.
This may even actually be one of the few things S/S seem to have done better, at least, if reports about the wild area not limiting you are true.
Should've just been more open routes and been the whole game, not a single zoomer big empty area but I said "better", not perfect.
It doesn't make you a shill to actually understand what made Pokémon good and want to return to it. I'm not buying them for a fucking reason.
