You can't really judge based on preorders. For all we know the game's sales could end up being insanely frontloaded, with preorders and first month sales being huge, only for the legs to drop out immediately afterwards. That's basically what happened with LGPE, and it wouldn't surprise me if a similar thing happened here.

If course they are going to sell well for Nintendo standards. If you thought they would bomb, you are genuinely retarded.
The odds that they do not reach Pokemon standards are also pretty low. The official death of Pokemon is definitely not happening this year, and will probably not happen until at least gen 10-11.

Hopefully gen 8 to gen 9 will be like gen 6 to 7. Still mediocre but actually a decent game overall that is made once game freak knows how to make games on the platform it is on
