TPC only sees money now. They don't see the fact that forcing Game Freak into rushing mainline games yearly because they need it when the only other thing releasing is mobiletrash for whales and complete casualfags who don't care about the rest of the series in between doesn't do anything good for the series.
They're thinking short term instead of long term like they used to.
Just another thing that shows Nintendo has VERY little to do with this series, despite Masuda trying to pass the buck after admitting every problem is basically his fault.
Nintendo is often retarded but that are absolutely stellar at playing the long game even when that means they draw the ire of players.
TPC is making money short term but damaging the series long term. Shit like using unreleased Pokémon in side series/the other media/merch while the current one was in development for as long as it needed helped gain hype and they needed that for long term success but they're too blinded by the green to care about it now.
THere are a bunch of early interviews (2000 - 2009) where Ishihara and Masuda understood exactly what made the series what it was and how it kept going as well as it did. They know but don't care anymore.
