I would be fine if they said "Sorry for lying we just had to rush this out" and promised future games would have all the pokemon including the third version.

It's like they didn't learn from Black and white.
Hell I have a tin foiled hat theory that says he is doing this purely to test if people would be mad or not, thinking back to the game he thought would be the best (BW)

There are only new animations for the old models. Only new textures.
And even the new particle effects don't even line up correctly. (Blastoise shooting water out his forhead, charizard's fire about a meter to the left of his head.)
