Start up HGSS first to get it's clock moving in case you want to mess with the Safari Zone. Then play through Platinum.

You should have played Crystal instead (although the remakes, Heart Gold and Soul Silver, include all the bonus content from Crystal as well). I'd say play Emerald (GBA) first, then Platinum, then HGSS. There's no reason to play DP when Platinum exists.
