OP here, I don't think who got cut should matter when deciding to make the purchase. What should matter is whether enough content has been introduced to make up for it and the number of dumb design choices is kept to a minimum.

None of this is going to happen. The only updates from Game Freak will be to fix game-threatening bugs, and nothing more.

The datamine will be my entire enjoyment of this game. I may someday pirate it if it's actually good enough, but Game Freak doesn't get my money for loafing anymore when there are other devs who actually care about their work that I could put it towards.
