Even if it don't run on water like the real basilisk, you can't deny that its crests look very basilisk-like. So it would be a chameleon but with basilisk appearance.

Notice all of them are water starters

Chameleons are arboreal and not semi-aquatic, so it seemed Sobble would break the pattern but the final evo shares more physical traits of basilisks than chameleons....
