The only reason why this happens (AND IT ALWAYS HAPPENS!) is because /vp/ is full of moody faggots who instinctively hate every new thing. Once its no longer as new they allow themselves to look at the Pokemon more objectively and often times (but no always) end up appreciating the new mon.
It happened with Impidimp, it happened with Obstagoon it will happen with some of the others.

Nah, it happens because most new designs are objectively hatable but people are so domesticated and faithful to GF they end up tolerating these trash designs.
Actual good designs (like the centipede) don't need to "grow on" people and are loved from the start.
