Genuinely good designs don’t require you to go the extra mile and break down what it is. Good designs are instantly noticed. For example Corviknight or the centipede pokemon.

Actually the comparison doesn't help the points people are complaining about it: the colors mimicking human clothes and the long limp proportion since the basilisk lizard has long sleek legs but short arms

Yeah fine but the issue is that the final product doesn't communicate any of those things unless you have the image you posted.

If you require an information sheet to compare it to, the design is a failure. This is standard practice for character design.
