As long as you like the basics (turn based monster collecting RPG) you should be able to like every game in the main series.
And hell, like Pokémon in general with non-mobiletrash side series games as options for those who don't like the main series basics.
But they're cashing in on it short term rather than playing the long game. Coincidentally for the exact opposite reason most of Nintendo's other mobileshit has failed - they're trying not to be douchenozzles about it because they likely know it won't go down well for them in the long run.
