Besides Legendaries, were there any Pokemon in previous gens that you could ONLY catch post-game? I mean from their respective gens of course.

Plenty. Gen 2 is the most infamous for this but I'm pretty sure most Gens after that do it as well to some degree.

Repeating what everyone else said but Gen2 was notorious for just gating everything new in Kanto and Mt. Silver. Gen4 had a ton of evolutions walled off as well... for better and for worse.

The only reason I know this is because I did a monowater run in black2 and it was not easy. Seismitoad would have been so useful.
