Back when the gen started, Hydreigon was notable for being one of the few fully non-legendary Pokemon with decent stats who could fill a moveset with different typed attacks over 80 base power. And he's not even hot shit today since he has that meme-ass 98 base speed. There were a bunch of fan favorites like Lilligant, Haxorus, Eelektross, Volcarona, Meinshao, Escavalier, etc. who struggled back then and could still definitely use the buff today.
