>>40707766I’m not personally slighted (although the music does disappoint me) and I know it’s not going to bomb. I don’t want it to bomb either. I love Pokémon and I’m looking forward to the Sinnoh remakes.
The games don’t have to be as good as I want them to be but they do have to be worth the asking price when compared to other games on the system. Mario, Zelda, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, nd maybe even Animal Crossing, all have teams of developers who wanted to innovate and do something special with their switch titles. Tons of content, graphical polish, and care went into those games. In the case of Fire Emblem, even though the graphics are on Sword and Shield’s level when it comes to models and textures, they make up for it with an expansive story and DLC content.
If Game Freak wants to phone this one in and just make small, quality of life improvements to their formula and not do anything special then that’s fine. But don’t try to sell the games for as much as Breath of the Wild, Three Houses, and Mario Odyssey.
Game Freak had an early copy of the switch in 2015 and has been working on these games for at least 3 years and they didn’t try to innovate whatsoever. Again. That’s fine but they should’t act like they’ve crafted some new and fantastical thing that’s on par with the other titles.
