It’s still the coolest moth design by far in the entire series, insane, usable (actually down right great) stats, which is rare on bug types. It’s still sick as fuck. One of my all time favorites.

That's weird, I would've thought Butterfree was more popular since it was a gen 1 mon and had a big role in the anime while Volcarona is a rare pokemon from a highly divisive gen. I know Volcarona's well liked by hardcore fans but I wonder if casual fans even know it exists.

I'd say this is true except Larvesta was on Island 2 in USUM and if the leakers find Larvesta, a much easier find, then Volcarona will obviously be a lock.
