>>40727476>I want to see the idea of a Gardevoir whose psychic powers influence and change her trainer explored further. I would like to see that too. In the story there's a lot people who question Grace about what she's doing which is only slightly invasive, but it never deals with the implications of just what she could do if she wanted to. She projected her orgasm into him in order to try to nudge him into sex which is treated as really bad, but if she really wanted to, she could probably take that all the way (and if she didnt get interrupted, she very well might have.)
Could she actually just change people's memories or feelings if she wanted?
>Speech TMThe speech TM opens a whole can of worms, and I think it was partly going into it with the Milotic. There was a line I remember somebody saying that was something like "Pokemon aren't human, but the more you treat them like humans, the more human they become."
And yeah, the story really made me think about class issues in the Pokemon world as well. They're still kind of their Trainers' property, but they're also able to think and feel like humans. And then there was the fact that in a couple of regions where the Speech TM is banned, it's suggested that Pokemon with it are rounded up and just "disappear."
The recurring scene at the train station hits those class issues the hardest for me.
Her mom is grieving but everyone around her is thinking about how that animal is violating leash laws, and she can't even get a drink from a machine without being accosted and expected to be getting it for her trainer. And then there's the stuff with Alice, like how she can't get a job without being owned by a trainer, or how she had to carry around bags of rocks to pretend she was running errands for a trainer so people wouldn't accost her.
