I don't think they do. I've only heard HGSS really praised for its postgame. Although I definitely think Kanto takes more than two hours unless you just sprint from one Gym Leader to the next.

Because GSC is old and people are blinded by nostalgia. The Battle Frontier also was never fun, it was just a mountain of bullshit conditions put on battles with prizes costing BP, making you feel like you were working toward something.

Pretty much this. HGSS had a fuckton to do after the league. Battle Frontier, Pokeathalon, Kanto and Red, legendary catching, I've easily racked up hours playing it. Compared to anything Gen 6 and up content wise, it's easily the best in the series.

I fucking hated SM's utltra beast's episode
