I don’t hate style changes throughout the gens (bound to happen), but I REALLY dislike the humanized monsters.
Jynx and Hitmonchan are one thing, since they’re humanoid creatures rather than beasts, but having a tiger pokémon that moves and acts like a human wrestler vs a dragon pokémon that’s shaped and moves like a beast is so jarring. The new starters aren’t at all beastly, they have human legs and expressions. Even Lopunny, which is obviously supposed to resemble a sexy playboy bunny, still feels and looks like an animal.
It’s just weird seeing Pokémon have defined personalities and “jobs” written into their design. I don’t want to adventure with weird lizard man in a suit I want to adventure with a big lizard monster!!!! That is all, thank you.
