Exp share should be in the game

Dragon Warrior Monsters had triple battles and breeding like 20 years ago,and siralim 3 has 6 vs 6 monster battles, get with the times, evolve

They also had exp gains across every monster you owned for every battle you won so you didn't have to grind the shit out of a mon in 1v1s for ages

Monster breeding would get you a new monster

EXP share is a great thing to have in an RPG, the issue is that Pokemon was never balanced properly for it, especially in X/Y and Sun/Moon. I would say I hope that they learned from their mistakes now that you can't turn it off and the game''s properly tweaked around its existence, but it's Game Freak so probably not, which is why people are mad about it.

Problem with EXP share is that the pokemon games are easy and small games to begin with, if you can just destroy everything in your path it ruins the immersion of grinding in a zone, maybe exploring every nook and cranny of a zone while grinding before you go to the next gym, or just appreciate how a zone looks until you are saturated and move to the next segment of the game, this way the games last alot longer and you get to experience everything it has to offer.

Pokemon is also a party-based RPG. The difference is in how battles are organized. If you've played through any of the pokemon games with EXP share on, you'd know that completing all of the trainer battles (which is the content you bought the game for) your team will be overleveled. This happened with ORAS and USUM and it'll happen here too, because GameFreak are making their games for babies.

The issue here is the game is based around grinding multiple monster for fusion so sharing exp across the party was done so the game could move at a reasonable pace.

Other RPGs have leaked EXP so that if the game requires you to use specific characters for a sidequest/scenario you don't have to stop and grind for two days just to continue.

Pokemon doesn't need that. You already have the shift battle style that tells you what your opponent is about send out and let you have a free switch to a counter without sharing the exp. You can switch a weak mon in then switch it out to split the exp gained and there was an item that never let you even have to switch it in to get half the exp. Also unlike many other RPGs the monsters you can be around the same power level as the rest of your team so if your having an issue you can literally go out catch something at immediately get a team member that contribute without a lick of training. Full party EXP share wasn't even remotely required. Just changing it to that every pokemon gets half per battle, exp for captures was more than enough to make it better.

Sucks, but so far it looks like only legit shitmon and cancermon have been culled. I will be the Starters and Chomp though, I'll admit that.

Not 100% proven. The dex may be expanded. There's no sign of mew, Meltan, Melmetal, and the inevitable Galarian pixie. This means that the dex will expand, but we're not sure how much.

Maybe I'm just too old to get this anymore but I very rarely sink more than 20-30 hours into a game these days, and even that's a stretch. So as long as it's fun I don't really care if it'll have hundreds of mons I'll never collect or even see probably. I get being mad about it if you're at a point where $60 is a lot to ask, but I'm personally just at a point where I somewhat regularly blow that amount of money on games I play for less than 10 hours and I don't really regret it. Eh.
