this does bring up some interesting connotations, though. i can imagine a villain team that uses chimera pokemon created from a bastardization of this resurrection technology.
of course game freak would never have that level of creativity but i could see a good fangame coming from it

The fossil machines in previous gens were sold as DNA extractors by the scientist guy, weren't they? Ignoring that DNA would have decayed by then and that fossils are made of rock that would not retain any DNA, the other fossil machines would not produce anything mixed up like this. Galar is literally using ancient, unethical technologies to try and add flesh to jumbled bones.

Besides the other examples, EVERY SINGLE artificial pokemon falls under this.
Think about it. Magearna was literally a random doll that a King brought to life. Giving life to random rocks is just the same unethical extension of the same thought process.

More than ever I'm now convinced that the pokemon in the games are effectively Digimon. Some things not 100% biological.
