Reminder, Gamefreak is out of touch with the community, even the Japanese one and they don't give a single fuck about their fans, only the furry fandom and you are supporting them but one day you will get the taste of your poison.

Gamefreak is weird in that they don't actually care about their JP fanbase, and focus entirely on the western fanbase.
The western fanbase is the genwunner, charizard/Mewtwo-obsessed one. Japan is more gen 3 and 4 favored, and prefer Rayquaza and Arceus

Gamefreak doesn't even pay attention to battles unless it is a glitch that effects online battles, and they pay a little attention to the VGC. Outside of the VGC championships, they don't pay attention to the "competitive scene" at all.

The item "Room Service" literally disproves that, obviously they pay attention enough to see that setting trick room teams can lack options sometimes, and this item really helps with that. If they didn't pay attention, they probably wouldn't have even though about solving this problem

Wait, I didn't realize it was a consumable, you're right. Think this will still be okay in certain situations for VGC, and I don't really see Gamefreak making this unless they were paying attention, but I could be wrong,

It's better than Iron Ball sometimes though, because you can put this on something like a Gengar, and still get benefits while in Trick Room while not having to lower your speed so much to the point where you're useless outside of trick room like you would with Ironball
