>>40778262>why do you dislike centiskorch? That isn't a pokemon, that's a giant Final Fatasy end boss.
>and grimmsnarl tooThat's the titanic first Angel from Eva crossed with a Jojos stand/pose. These things aren't Pocket Monsters they're dog chew toy levels of squishy ball things stretched and deformed, then covered with spikes and stripes, and crossed with some over the top flair like being a smoke stack. Then the legendaries and megas are just comically large end game bosses from RPGs. Again not Pokemon. Look, I don't want to sound like a Gen1er. I like a lot of the newer mons, but they have undoubtedly have been going to shit over time to the point they are just parodies of themselves. It's gone from gen 1 to now going from 97% of things that look like pokemon to around 7%.
Pokemon should be simple and clean and have features that make them seem like they could exist in the wild. All of these look like party balloons or death gods sent from the heavens to purge the planet. Imagine a syther walking around and eating berries in the wild. Seems legit. Imagine looking in the forest and seeing an apple pie dinosaur eating grass. Not so cool. Or a tea cup hopping around...
Honestly you see the first signs of this new design traits in gen 2 with things like Azumarill, Amphaross,Lanturn and Xatu, and it remained the same not bad amount in 3. Then in gen 4 it starts to pick up. More ballons, more overdesigns, more gimicks, more stripes, more spikes, and less things that look like little natural monsters and animals and more just nonsense. Shit just hits the fan in 5 and continues down hill in 6 and 7. Don't get me wrong there are some greats sprinked in, but this is where we hit the 50% and less mark. Now this gen just went and said fuck it all. Again. There are still some really great ones in here. I think the rapidash is perfect. I think Wooloo is perfect. Honestly the Yamper line is great but needs some cleaning. But for the most part just look at these guys...
