Really that's probably the one thing that makes me genuinely mad about this entire thing. It's pretty dumb to cut the other 2 starters from the most well known gen. I'm fine with them not getting gmax, but they should've seen the backlash coming from this decision especially.

Such a dumb decision to cut the dex at all, but ones that should have been safe should have been all the starters. Those are the ones people tend to have the most sentimental value to.

Wasn't there some interview when Pokebank came out several years ago, where they stressed how super understanding they are of sentimental mons and want you to be able to always bring them into the new games? That lasted really fucking long, didn't it, Niantic?

Cutting starters is such a bad move in general. I understand why it would follow on from a dex cut, but it is a horrendous choice.

There are pokemon you could remove and only upset a very small number of people. But the starters almost guarantees you removing everyone's first mon (stuff like yellow gets around this). Not only that but they are strong mons and often what a kid would rely on to help them through the game. Removing them guarantees removing a very special mon to someone.
