Smogon had better begin work on a complete metagame that includes gen 8 mons with the USUM dex as soon as they possibly fucking can. They literally are the franchise's only hope.

If this is your complaint, you probably arent competitve to begin with and are likely just a casual player who wouldnt use Showdown anyways

Also, the few times we've had limited formsts om showdown, they have been awesome, so I hope they don't include all Pokemon

Okay asshats I’ll let you know.
Smog will have a Galar dex OU and nat dex Ou format to play day 1 of release.
Past that we don’t know what other tiers + OMs will be based off of, but likely it will be the more popular version.

They'll probably separate metagames between all mons and Galarion mons only, you know, doing what Game Freak should have done instead of just taking a hatchet to the dex

I know people hate smogon because they think they dictate everything about competitive pokemon on a whim but the reality is different. Their standard metagames have to be entirely identical mechanics wise to the cartridge games to prevent divergence from being merely a ruleset. So it probably won’t happen. Perhaps a custom metagame becomes more popular than SS OU but I doubt it.

they've already stated that they'll have 2 different ladders, one with all mons available and one with only the mons that are in sword/shield. The official OU will be the one with only sw/sh mons and that's what they'll mostly be balancing for

You fucking can. Pretty much everything is allowed on Ubers. It's just that you won't find anyone that will use Stantler in that tier because they can use Palkia instead

These guys added it within minutes of me bringing up the subject, but playing it requires friends to be online for it. All of the moves still work. When challenging someone, there's a gen 7 triples custom.
