The idea is just to do a fusion of miss matched parts, you can clearly demonstrate that while not doing a shit design. OP managed that, I think he could slim down the top half but it is much more preferable to the real design. A functional design is needed before you can start shouting but the concept tho at people. OP's gets the point across while looking good, the real one is a more overt version of the design while looking like putrid shit. One is clearly preferable
