Wake up retard, they are reclying models for EVERY POKEMON anyway, it's not that they don't have the models for pokemon absent from SWSH. LGPE itself used 3DS models that were futureproofed to begin with.The real reason for the cut is forcing you to pay for Home. They want to milk hardcore crowd more since GO is more remunerative than mainline these days, I think it's a case of internal rivalry.

You're not the target audience.
It's kids who's this game will be their first Pokemon game ever.
You can't oversaturate with 900+ creatures on a game aimed at 9 year olds.
If it was my decision I would have toned down the roost as well considering the Switch is basically the new Nintendo Wii in terms of new demographics.

The shitstorm would have unironically been worse if every dex was cut except kanto. And it doesnt make sense to set the precedent that GF will always include all of kanto in every game. This will just make people question why some pokemon arent in gen 9 when their hd models were already in gen 8

And it likely wouldn't take u much more space since the game's only using a third of what the Switch cartridges can hold. No joke it's around 10 gigs and the cartridges can hold like 30 gigs worth. That's 10 gigs with just a but under half the total pokemon we had access to before. I really doubt those pokemon models take up that much space that couldn't have gotten the rest in.

I feel the balance issues could be fixed if they made a battle format where you can only take certain "points" for battle and each Pokemon had their own points, for example, shitmons and early bugs costing only 1 point, region bird, rodent and meh Pokemon costing 2 points, starters and moderately good mons costing 3 points, and so on. They could base themselves in stuff like egg cycles or Exp. rate, and balance them in future updates and stuff like that. That way, people could take a strong legendary but compensate it with a kinda weak mon.
It's just an idea I've had for a while, but I don't know how good it would exetute. Of course, free battles would always allow for this restriction to not apply when needed.
