How about a Roaming Legendary that is based on the starter you picked... You can't get the other ones without trading! Yeah this feature sucks.

The feature it replaced, the Pokemon Dance was fucking awful and that is another "never return" feature. Also the XY "music video" feature is similar to pokemon dance ... and I don't think it'd be worth seeing that return... it wasn't the worst tho.
