Can someone sum up Sun/Moon USUM family abuse story? I never bothered finishing them

Is it like, Lillie is a friend of MC and she loves Pokemon, her mother is an evil bitch trying to fuse with Poke-aliens and shit for power? Did Lusamine use Lillie for her plans or something?

Lusamine lost her mind after her husband (a researcher from her organization) disappeared while investigating UBs
She became increasingly more controlling of her children probably in a poor attempt to keep them close and she just spiraled down

So she basically had an Aether branch dedicated to research on the UBs and how to control them.
Then she became enthralled by the UBs, A Nihilego was roaming Aether apparently but we aren't certain if she was exposed to their neurotoxin (you later learn the Nihilego neurotoxin enhances the host abilities, causes insanity and makes them completely dedicated to protect the Nihilego which kinda matches Lusamine's behavior), and her plan basically changed to opening a hole to run away to their world and becoming their mother

So cue the protag helping Lillie. Lusamine's plan didn't really threat the world in the original SM. The Kahunas and Tapus handled the roaming UBs and they are revealed to not be dangerous, they were just scared and confused of the unown world.
Lusamine becomes extremely narcisist and selfish to anything thay isn't the UBs. Because her children opposed her she stopped recognizing them as their own children. Tried to charm Hau at some point by telling him to stay around and let her pick clothes. In the end she took advantage of Guzma who has the shittiest self-steem and because Guzma does everything she says she took him to her world.
When you defeat Lusamine she goes into coma but before that she recognizes Lillie and tells her she's beautiful, the line kinda feels like she forgot everything that happened with the UBs.

In USUM Lusamine instead develops hatred for the UBs and hero complex. The whole thing about choosing her children's clothes still happens but makes no fucking sense. Males her plan to defeat Ultra Necrozma and save the world but deep inside all she wants is praise so she rejects help and advice even from people who knows better. Gets defeated by Necrozma, gets told hard and decides to stay in the dark and not meddle with her children's lives again.

Probably sinply because she thought the UBs were the most gorgeous thing and wanted to ressembled them more and she likely knew how they all looked from research. Is frustrating that in neither game Lusamine and Pheromosa interact. The clothes shit doesn't make sense in USUM anymore but they could be bothered to update the designs.

The story is more like Queen Zeal from Chrono Trigger. Nebby and Lillie are Schala and Gladion is Magus.

It's so frustrating, while it's very intrusive to the gameplay experience, I did enjoy Sun and Moons story, then USUM comes along and butchers the story but has the better boss battles and shit.
