I think GF might be switching up the formula entirely. Instead of doing a 3rd version/ sequels, they're going to pump out a whole new gen on a near annual basis each with their own respective 400~ish dexes with only 80ish new entries and the other culled mons, while utilizing Home as essentially a collection base with a few bells and whistles attatched (hopefully a battle sim as well).
Unless this is the long game plan, I see no other excuse for the culling and the paltry amount of new creatures added. Even gen 2 had at least 100 new pokes.
I'm not sure if this would be a GOOD direction to go in but I feel like it would at least partly assuage the nationaldexfags and everyone who's lost a bro.

If this doesnt end up being the case then i have no idea what the fuck GF is doing, This would be the only saving grace.
