Would anyone else be OK with a true reboot?

I'm sad all my favorites are gone, but what hurts the most is the favoritism.

I can't take the KANTOOOO anymore, Charizard is the only starter that got in.

It's not about number, it's about treatment.

Kanto mons get the most regional variants, they got the only starter spot, Charizard is the fucking ace of a new region champ, etc.

I'd be content with an all or nothing approach, but that's hard to pull off.

For example, Capcom tried this with SFIII, basically only having Ken, Ryu, Akuma, and Chun Li by the time of 3rd Strike. It was the worst selling SF and it's a mircale SFIV was made. Fighting fans are autistic about their mains.

Now imagine that, but Pokemon. Granted, Pokemon has it's current cull, but there are still mainstays, so sales won't be dented at all.

I think a true reboot would serioulsy damage the freanchise. Games are not the primary income source, and the other ones a strongly tied to previus generations

At this point I would love a reboot, so we can make a clean slate.
Problem is, it would SUCK.
And this is because GF is shit at making NEW pokémon designs. We would end up with terrible mons, killing this series for good.
Let's be honest here: sword/shield are saved because of Charizard. They don't have any merit beside pandering to nostalgia.
They would never be able walk on their own two feet.
And this is pokémon from now until the end of times. Creatively bankrupt.

On a fighting game I only find that obvious. I mean if a fightinh game is liked it doesn't need ANYTHING else. Just update the graphics every few years or so, add some attacks maybe, keep the community alive and if you plan to include someone new, do it forever. If something works why change it? Just add on it

That's mostly been the idea. Honestly the way that DLC work benefits fighting games the most, SFV being the best example.
Before you'd have multiple retail releases of a game. Now you have one base version that's compatible with any expanded verison, with late adoptors being able to buy an expanded retail version. The practice began with Super SFIV, although I THINK you can upgrade vanilla IV to AE, but I'm very unsure about that lol

I love Unova, but BW were the worst main line games in sales (not taking remakes or third version into account). B2W2 sold barely better than Platinum, despite being two games. So yeah, I don't think they would try to go that route again, sadly.
